Martin studied piano performance at Furman University and later earned his master's degree from the University of Texas at Austin, where he subsequently taught in the Piano Pedagogy Department for five years. His performance career spans solo recitals and collaborations with orchestras across the United States and Mexico, including a competition win that led to performing with the Guadalajara Symphony Orchestra and a nationally broadcast recital from Mexico City.

Today, Martin channels his compositional energy into sacred and secular choral music, with his works performed everywhere from Carnegie Hall to regional concert halls and worship spaces throughout North America. Based in Austin, Texas, he continues to compose and arrange with remarkable range, creating music that serves both concert stages and church communities with equal skill.
