About the Composer: Vince Gassi

Vince Gassi

Vince Gassi has been composing and arranging music for young ensembles since earning his Bachelor of Music from the University of Western Ontario. His studies at the Dick Grove School of Music in Los Angeles shaped his approach to both composition and orchestration, skills he has refined through a quarter-century of teaching instrumental music at the elementary and secondary levels. He holds a Ph.D. from York University in Toronto.

With more than 100 published works to his name since joining Alfred Music in 2006, Gassi has established himself as a composer whose pieces balance musical substance with accessibility. He remains active as a guest conductor, adjudicator, and clinician across the United States and Canada, leading workshops on creative engagement and digital workflows for music directors. His compositions appear regularly on festival programs and have been performed internationally.
