About the Composer: Kirk Vogel
Kirk Vogel earned his Bachelor of Music Education from Capital University in 1980, followed by a Master's degree from the University of Northern Colorado in 1987. Throughout his career in Colorado schools, he taught band, orchestra, choir, and jazz at institutions including Palisade Jr./Sr. High School, Bayfield Middle and High School, and Heath Middle School in Greeley, where his ensembles performed at state conventions and the Midwest Band and Orchestra Clinic.
As a composer, Vogel has been published by Kjos Music, Alfred Music, Grand Mesa Music, and Southern Music, with works that have won the Colorado Music Educators Association Composers Competition multiple times. His music spans all age levels from elementary through college and has been performed by community bands, the Pittsburgh Symphony, and the Greeley Philharmonic. He remains active as a guest conductor, adjudicator, and clinician while residing in Greeley with his wife, Susan.
