About the Arranger: Jerry Snyder
Jerry Snyder's career spans five decades of pioneering work in guitar pedagogy and performance. A multi-instrumentalist educated at San Jose State University, he served as Performing Arts Coordinator for the East Side Union High School District for 12 years, overseeing music instruction across 10 high schools. His influence extends through 60+ published guitar works, including the foundational Comprehensive Guitar Method (1971) and Jerry Snyder's Guitar School for Alfred Publishing.
Beyond the classroom, Snyder has been instrumental in building guitar curricula nationwide, conducting over 200 workshops for teachers developing their own programs. He has performed with the San Jose Symphony since 1974, appeared in 24 San Jose Musical Theater productions, and collaborated with regional ensembles spanning classical, jazz, and pops contexts. Currently, he teaches jazz, rock, and blues guitar at De Anza College and serves as President of the South Bay Guitar Society.
