About the Composer: JaRod Hall
JaRod Hall is a Texas-based composer and educator who earned degrees in music education from the University of North Texas and Texas State University, studying composition with Dr. Michael Ippolito and Dr. Jack Wilds, and conducting with Dr. Nicholas Williams and Dr. Caroline Beatty. A tubist and trombonist who performed as principal tuba with the Texas State Wind Symphony and earned four selections to the Texas All-State Band, Hall has spent eight years directing bands that consistently earned sweepstakes recognition at UIL evaluations, including a 2018 middle school ensemble that won the Citation of Excellence, the first such award in Frisco ISD history.
Hall's compositions appear on the Texas Prescribed Music List, the J.W. Pepper Editor's Choice list, and the Bandworld Top 100 list. His original brass work "Silver Fanfare" won the 2020 Dallas Winds Call for Fanfares, and his grade 2 concert band piece "Through the Storm" received the 2021 Barbara Buehlman Prize for middle school band. His arrangements and compositions reflect his dual expertise as both performer and educator.
