About the Composer: Timothy Loest
Timothy Loest has established himself as a prolific composer and educator whose works are performed by young musicians across the globe. His compositions have reached audiences at prestigious venues like Chicago's Millennium Park, and his contributions to music education extend through bestselling method series including Measures of Success and Warm-ups and Beyond. In 2017, he received the Illinois Grade School Music Association's Cloyd Myers Memorial Award for Excellence in Music Education, recognizing decades of impact in the classroom.
Loest's career spans over thirty years as an instrumental music teacher and three decades as a published composer. He holds degrees in music education from Illinois State University and Northwestern University, and founded Fanfare Music Press in 2022 to publish high-quality band compositions and arrangements. His music has appeared on network television including The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and Good Morning America. Beyond his classroom work at F.E. Peacock Middle School in Illinois, he regularly accepts commissions and continues to shape young musicians' experiences through accessible, imaginative writing.
