Timothy Loest

Timothy Loest has established himself as a composer whose work reaches both the classroom and the concert hall. His pieces for young band circulate nationally, and his educational impact extends through method book collaborations including Measures of Success and Warm-ups and Beyond. In 2017, his composition Cloud Gate received a landmark performance at Chicago's Millennium Park before an audience of over 5,000, and that same year he earned the Cloyd Myers Memorial Award for Excellence in Music Education from the Illinois Grade School Music Association.

With a career spanning three decades in the classroom, Loest brings deep pedagogical insight to every score. His catalog includes works for Warner Bros. Publications, C.L. Barnhouse Company, The FJH Music Company, and MakeMusic Publications. In 2022, he founded Fanfare Music Press to focus on high-quality band compositions and arrangements. His music has appeared on network television including The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and Good Morning America. Loest earned his Bachelor of Music Education from Illinois State University and his Master of Music from Northwestern University.
