About the Composer: Timothy Loest

Timothy Loest has spent more than thirty years in the classroom while building an international reputation as a composer and arranger whose works reach thousands of young musicians annually. His range spans concert pieces and pedagogical resources alike; his compositions have appeared on network television, including The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and Good Morning America, and a 2017 work drew over 5,000 listeners at Chicago's Millennium Park. In 2022, he founded Fanfare Music Press to publish band compositions and arrangements at the highest standard.

Loest's contributions to music education extend beyond composition. He holds a Bachelor of Music Education from Illinois State University and a Master of Music from Northwestern University, and he has lent his expertise to several widely adopted band methods, including Measures of Success and the Rhythms and Beyond series. The Illinois Grade School Music Association honored him with the Cloyd Myers Memorial Award for Excellence in Music Education in 2017. He is a member of ASCAP and regularly accepts commissions for band.
