About the Composer: Mark Williams

Mark Williams built a prolific career composing for school ensembles, with over 200 published works spanning band, orchestra, and choir. He co-authored the Accent on Achievement Band Method and spent years teaching elementary band in Washington state while earning degrees from Eastern Washington University. His expertise as a woodwind performer and arranger for the 560th Air Force Band informed his accessible, performance-focused writing.

As both clinician and guest conductor, Williams traveled extensively across the United States, Canada, and Australia, bringing his distinctive voice to festivals and clinics. He earned recognition through the Western International Band Clinic's Gralia Competition and multiple ASCAP Special Awards. Beyond the page, Williams performed regularly on bassoon and served as conductor and artistic director for the Spokane British Brass Band.
