About the Composer: David O'Fallon
David O'Fallon began composing and arranging in his youth, developing his craft through formal training at Northern Illinois University, where he earned degrees in Elementary Education and Music Theory and Composition. During his time there, he served as staff arranger for the NIU Jazz Ensemble, gaining deep experience in orchestration and ensemble writing.
O'Fallon's performance background spans multiple instruments and ensembles. He has performed as a percussionist and violist with the Chicago Civic Orchestra, sung with the Chicago Symphony Chorus as a bass section member, and frequently augments the Chicago Symphony Orchestra's percussion section, with whom he has recorded extensively and toured internationally. The American String Teachers Association has commissioned him four times to create contemporary works tailored to developing string players, reflecting his commitment to writing music that serves young musicians.
