About the Arranger: Mark Williams

Mark Williams built his reputation as one of the most prolific and respected voices in school band and orchestra composition. A native of Chicago who spent his formative years in Spokane, Washington, Williams authored the Accent on Achievement Band Method while maintaining an active schedule as a clinician and guest conductor across 34 states, five Canadian provinces, and Australia. His career was grounded in elementary band instruction in Washington schools, where he applied his deep understanding of young musicians' needs to his compositional work.

Williams earned degrees from Eastern Washington University and performed as a bassoon specialist and arranger with the 560th Air Force Band. Over his lifetime, he published more than 200 compositions for band, orchestra, and choir, earning recognition from the Western International Band Clinic's Gralia Competition and multiple ASCAP Special Awards. Beyond the page, he conducted the Spokane British Brass Band as its artistic director and remained an active performer throughout his career.
