About the Arranger: Mark Williams

Mark Williams built his career on understanding what young musicians need to play. With over 200 published works and decades spent teaching elementary band in Washington, he knew how to write music that students could actually perform while staying musically satisfying. His work as a clinician and guest conductor across 34 states, five Canadian provinces, and Australia gave him insight into the real challenges band programs face at every level.

Beyond composition, Williams was an accomplished musician himself, performing bassoon professionally and serving as conductor and artistic director for the Spokane British Brass Band. He earned recognition through the Western International Band Clinic's Gralia Competition and multiple ASCAP Special Awards. His textbook collaboration on the Accent on Achievement Band Method cemented his influence on instrumental music education, while his background with the 560th Air Force Band informed his arrangements and orchestrations.
