About the Composer: Jared Barnes
Jared Barnes composes instrumental music that has been heard at honor bands, festivals, and the Midwest Clinic across the United States and internationally. His works have earned recognition on Stanton's Five Star Feature, J.W. Pepper Editors' Choice, and Bandworld's Top 100 lists, reflecting a gift for writing music that engages young musicians without compromising musical substance.
Based in Iowa, Barnes brings over a decade of teaching experience in instrumental music at the middle and high school levels. His ensembles consistently earn Division I ratings at the IHSMA Large Group Festival and were selected as the Class 1A High School Honor Band for the 2011 and 2019 Iowa Bandmasters Conventions. He holds a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Wartburg College.
