About the Composer: Mark Cabaniss

Mark Cabaniss is a Nashville-based composer and publisher whose stage works have earned national recognition and multiple ASCAP Popular Music Awards. His musical adaptations span from beloved American stories to original comedies, including the widely performed Miracle in Bedford Falls (his stage version of It's a Wonderful Life), The Homework Machine, The Stardust Supper Club, and The 50th Annual Polk County Picnic. He holds membership in the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences and serves as an adjunct professor of Music Business at Belmont University.

Beyond composing, Cabaniss has built a career as a music publisher and producer, collaborating with entertainment figures including Andy Griffith and Shirley Jones. He serves on the Board of Advisors for The Music Man Square in Mason City, Iowa, and on the Board of Trustees at Mars Hill University, his alma mater. Cabaniss founded and endowed The Helen Cole Krause Music Scholarship and holds degrees in Music Education and Communications from Mars Hill University and the University of Tennessee at Knoxville.
