About the Composer: JaRod Hall

JaRod Hall is a Texas-based composer and educator who earned degrees in music education from the University of North Texas and Texas State University. His teachers shaped him across multiple disciplines: Don Little mentored him on tuba, Dennis Fisher and conducting specialists Dr. Nicholas Williams and Dr. Caroline Beatty refined his interpretive skills, while Dr. Michael Ippolito and Dr. Jack Wilds developed his compositional voice.

Hall brings eight years of middle school band directing experience to his writing, a tenure marked by consistent sweepstakes recognition at the UIL Concert and Sightreading Evaluations. His 2018 non-varsity band at Griffin Middle School made history as Frisco ISD's first middle school ensemble to earn a State Citation of Excellence. A versatile musician, he has performed principal tuba with the Texas State Wind Symphony and earned four consecutive Texas All-State Band selections. His works appear on the Texas Prescribed Music List, J.W. Pepper's Editor's Choice, and the Bandworld Top 100, including the 2021 Barbara Buehlman Prize winner for middle school band.
