As Organist-Choirmaster at Pilgrim United Church of Christ in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, he has built a distinguished career as a composer and arranger, with more than 500 works published across sacred, secular, educational, and pop repertoire through Alfred Music, Hal Leonard, Heritage Music Press, and other major publishers.

Moore's compositions appear regularly at state contests and festivals and have been performed at state, regional, national, and international music conventions. He is a seventeen-time recipient of the ASCAP Composers Standard Award and was recently recognized by the American Choral Directors Association Choral Journal as one of 400 significant composers in American choral music history.

Why we love this

Moore understands the December crunch. Three carols in one arrangement means you gain a complete holiday moment without tripling your rehearsal load. The SAB voicing sits comfortably for mixed ensembles of varying ability, and the medley format keeps singers engaged across the full eight pages.

What to expect

Festive and accessible, these three English carols maintain the familiar warmth of traditional holiday music while the three-part mixed voicing keeps everyone singing. The medley structure creates momentum and variety, preventing the performance from feeling static or overly earnest.

Who it's for

High school and adult choirs performing holiday concerts on compressed rehearsal schedules. This arrangement works equally well for church choirs adding variety to their Christmas program without committing extensive preparation time.

How to get the most out of it

  • Balance the three carols as distinct movements rather than rushing through them as one continuous piece. Let each melody breathe and settle before moving to the next.
  • Use the recorded accompaniment to lock tempos and ease ensemble anxiety during your heaviest rehearsal weeks. This alone can cut learning time significantly.
  • Check your altos on their independence during the middle carol. SAB voicing can blur if the middle voice sits too passively.

How to use it

Slot this into the second half of your concert as a palate-cleansing moment between heavier or more contemporary pieces. The medley format also works beautifully as a closing group if you want to send your audience into the winter season with straightforward choral joy.

Skills your students will build

  • Ensemble blend and balance in three-part mixed voicing
  • Quick learning and memory retention under rehearsal time constraints
  • Transitioning between contrasting melodic ideas within a single arrangement
