About the Composer: Timothy Loest
Timothy Loest has spent over three decades in the classroom while building an international reputation for compositions and arrangements that balance musicality with accessibility. His works appear regularly on state and national festival programs, and his music has reached audiences far beyond the concert hall, from Chicago's Millennium Park to network television broadcasts including The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and Good Morning America. In 2017, the Illinois Grade School Music Association recognized his contributions to music education with the Cloyd Myers Memorial Award for Excellence.
Loest's influence extends through pedagogical collaborations as well. He has contributed to several widely adopted band methods, including Measures of Success and the Warm-ups and Beyond series, and in 2022 founded Fanfare Music Press to publish high-quality compositions and arrangements for band. A graduate of Illinois State University and Northwestern University, he holds membership in ASCAP and maintains an active commission practice for band repertoire.
