Bruce W. Tippette

Bruce W. Tippette is a composer and educator whose work spans concert music, film, and collaborative projects with major cultural institutions. Trained at Appalachian State University and the University of North Carolina School of the Arts (where he earned his Master's in composition), Tippette has built a portfolio of commissioned works performed internationally. His orchestral piece Unconquered won the 2012 Mary Starling Composition Competition and received multiple performances by the Winston-Salem Symphony.

Beyond his concert works, Tippette has composed for choreographers, film productions, and children's theater, demonstrating versatility across genres. He currently teaches composition, theory, piano, and voice at UNCSA's Community Music School while serving as Youth Music and Handbell Director at Augsburg Lutheran Church. His published works appear through Alfred Music, and he maintains an active practice as a collaborative pianist and rehearsal accompanist in North Carolina.
