About the Arranger: Mark Williams

Mark Williams built his reputation through decades of writing accessible, musically rewarding works for school ensembles. A prolific composer with over 200 published pieces, he co-authored the Accent on Achievement Band Method and earned recognition through ASCAP Special Awards and the Gralia Competition at the Western International Band Clinic. His work grew from hands-on experience teaching elementary band in Washington state and from his performances as a bassoon player with the 560th Air Force Band.

Beyond his compositional output, Williams shaped music education through direct engagement with teachers and students across 34 U.S. states, 5 Canadian provinces, and Australia as a clinician and guest conductor. He earned degrees from Eastern Washington University and served as conductor and artistic director for the Spokane British Brass Band, bringing both compositional craft and performance integrity to every project he undertook.
