Benjamin Harlan serves as Dean of the School of Church Music at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas, where he shapes the next generation of church musicians. His compositions and arrangements appear in catalogs across multiple major publishers, spanning choral, keyboard, and handbell literature. Harlan holds degrees from Baylor University (B.M. and M.M.) and earned his D.M.A. from SBTS. Since 1990, he has received annual ASCAP awards recognizing his contributions to American music.

Beyond his academic leadership, Harlan has served as Associate Professor of Church Music at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary and held Minister of Music positions at several churches across Louisiana.
