About the Composer: Robert Sheldon
Robert Sheldon stands among the most frequently performed composers for wind band ensembles worldwide. His works appear regularly on state and national contest lists, and his compositions have been heard in some of the world's most prestigious concert halls, from Carnegie Hall to the Sydney Opera House. He has earned recognition from the American School Band Director's Association, Phi Beta Mu, and the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers for his contributions to the art form.
Beyond composing, Sheldon serves as lead author of Sound Innovations for Concert Band and maintains an active schedule as guest conductor for All-State and Regional Honor Bands. He has presented clinics and seminars at universities and state music education conferences across the United States and internationally in Japan, Canada, Italy, Germany, Australia, and China. VanderCook College of Music awarded him an honorary doctorate in 2020 in recognition of his lasting impact on music education.
