About the Composer: Catherine Rollin

Catherine Rollin is a composer and pianist whose career spans both the concert stage and the studio. She holds degrees from the University of Michigan and Oakland University School of Performing Arts, and has presented workshops and masterclasses across North America and Asia. Her commissions include works for the Music Teachers National Association, the Michigan Music Teachers Association, and Clavier Companion magazine, and her pieces regularly appear on the National Federation of Music Clubs Festivals Bulletin.

Rollin's compositional achievements have earned her recognition as an ASCAP award-winning composer. She has served as a judge for the MTNA Student Composition Competition and the Lynn Freeman Olson Composition Contest. In 2018, the Steinway Society honored her with a concert featuring her multimedia series Museum Masterpieces, and the MTNA commissioned Suite Detroit, a trio for flute, alto saxophone, and piano that premiered at the organization's national conference.
