About the Composer: Roland Barrett

Roland Barrett has shaped wind music pedagogy and composition for over two decades. After fifteen years directing bands, he joined the University of Oklahoma's composition and theory faculty in 2001, where he teaches 20th-century music to undergraduate and graduate students while continuing his role as arranger for the Pride of Oklahoma marching band.

Barrett's catalog exceeds two hundred published works for symphonic band, chamber ensembles, and marching groups. His compositions have been performed by the Dallas Wind Symphony and countless state and regional honor bands, broadcast on National Public Radio, and featured at major conventions including the Midwest Band & Orchestra Conference and the International Trumpet Guild. He is a multiple recipient of the ASCAPlus award.
