Joseph M. Martin studied piano performance at Furman University and earned his master's degree from the University of Texas at Austin, where he later taught in the Piano Pedagogy Department for five years. His performance career has taken him across the United States and Mexico, including appearances with symphony orchestras and a featured performance with the Guadalajara Symphony Orchestra following his win in the Nina Plant Wideman Competition.
Martin's compositions and arrangements span an impressive range of venues, from Carnegie Hall to church sanctuaries across North America. He divides his time between concert performances and his primary calling: creating music for worship settings and conferences for church musicians. Based in Austin, Texas, he continues to expand the musical palette available to choral directors and worship leaders.
