About the Composer: Robert Sheldon

Robert Sheldon's compositions appear on concert and contest programs across the globe with remarkable frequency. His works have been performed at Carnegie Hall, Orchestra Hall, Boston Symphony Hall, the Sydney Opera House, and the Kennedy Center, and his music is studied by wind ensembles at every level. He is also the lead author of Sound Innovations for Concert Band and has received honors from the American School Band Directors Association, Phi Beta Mu, and the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers.

Sheldon maintains an active schedule as a guest conductor for All-State and Regional Honor Bands, and he regularly clinics at universities and state music education conferences across North America, Europe, Asia, and Australia. He accepts commissions for new works consistently and publishes numerous compositions for concert band each year. In 2020, VanderCook College of Music recognized his contributions to wind band education with an honorary doctorate.
