About the Composer: Robert Sheldon

Robert Sheldon stands among the most frequently programmed composers for wind bands worldwide. His works appear regularly on state and national contest lists, and his compositions have been performed at Carnegie Hall, Orchestra Hall, the Kennedy Center, and the Sydney Opera House. Sheldon has received honors from the American School Band Director's Association, Phi Beta Mu, and the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers, and holds a honorary doctorate from VanderCook College of Music.

Beyond composing, Sheldon shapes wind band education as the lead author of Sound Innovations for Concert Band. He maintains an active schedule as a guest conductor for All-State and Regional Honor Bands, and regularly clinics at universities and state music education conferences. His work takes him internationally to Japan, Canada, Italy, Germany, Australia, and China, where he conducts and teaches his own compositions.
