Roland Barrett has spent decades shaping wind band repertoire as both a composer and an arranger. His work at the University of Oklahoma since 2001 spans music theory instruction and composition across undergraduate and graduate levels, with particular emphasis on 20th-century topics. He continues to arrange for the Pride of Oklahoma marching band while maintaining an active publication record that exceeds two hundred works for symphonic band, chamber groups, and marching ensembles.

Barrett's compositions reach consistently into the nation's finest ensembles. His music has been performed by the Dallas Wind Symphony, countless All-State and All-Region Honor Bands, and featured on NPR and national television broadcasts.
