Tom Fettke has spent over five decades creating and arranging choral music that speaks directly to church and school musicians. A California-credentialed music educator with degrees from Oakland City College and California State University at Hayward, he taught vocal music in public schools and served as director of choral activities for the Redwood Christian School System while simultaneously directing choirs in churches ranging from small congregations to large ministries. His compositional output spans hundreds of published works and recordings.
Fettke's influence on congregational singing reaches millions. The Majesty and Glory of Your Name, one of his signature choral works, is performed regularly by thousands of choirs worldwide. He shaped modern church worship through his editorial work on The Hymnal for Worship and Celebration (1986) and The Celebration Hymnal, both landmarks in contemporary liturgical music. His commitment to writing practical, engaging music that serves real congregations and classrooms has defined his career since the 1970s.
