Joseph M. Martin

Joseph M. Martin studied piano performance at Furman University in Greenville, South Carolina, then pursued graduate training at the University of Texas, Austin. He spent five years teaching piano pedagogy at UT Austin while maintaining an active performance career, appearing as a solo recitalist and as featured artist with orchestras throughout the United States and Mexico. His competition win in the Nina Plant Wideman Competition led to performances with the Guadalajara Symphony Orchestra, and his recital work has been broadcast nationally.

Martin's compositional voice has reached audiences from Carnegie Hall to regional theaters and across hundreds of churches in the United States and Canada. Though he continues concertizing, his primary focus has shifted toward church music and conference presentations for church musicians. He brings both his pianist's technical foundation and his deep engagement with congregational worship into his vast catalog of compositions and arrangements. Martin resides in Austin, Texas with his family.
