Joseph M. Martin holds degrees in piano performance from Furman University and the University of Texas at Austin, where he later taught in the Piano Pedagogy Department for five years. His concert career has taken him across the United States and Mexico, including performances with the Guadalajara Symphony Orchestra following his win of the Nina Plant Wideman Competition, and broadcasts from venues like Ex-convento del Carman have reached national audiences.
These days, Martin channels his performing energy into church music and conferences for church musicians, though his compositions and arrangements continue to surprise listeners with their range and depth. His work appears in settings from Carnegie Hall to hundreds of worship spaces across North America, and he makes his home in Austin, Texas with his family.
