About the Composer: Todd Stalter

Todd Stalter spent 34 years as Director of Bands at Eureka High School in Illinois, building a program recognized statewide for consistent excellence. His marching band claimed 16 Class 1A state championships, his concert ensembles earned repeated Superior ratings at IHSA contests, and his groups performed at Orchestra Hall in Chicago and Walt Disney World, as well as at multiple bowl game festivals. Beyond the high school, he has conducted All-State Bands in Georgia and Delaware, led numerous honor bands across Illinois, and maintained an active career as an adjudicator and clinician throughout the Midwest.

Stalter holds degrees in music education and trumpet performance from Illinois State University, where he studied conducting with Dr. Stephen K. Steele and trumpet with both Richard Lehman of the President's Own Marine Band and Dr. James Buckner. His compositions for band and string orchestra are performed internationally and appear on state contest lists across the country. Several of his works are included in the "Teaching Music Through Performance in Band" series, a resource widely used in music education programs.
