About the Arranger: Timothy Loest

Timothy Loest has shaped instrumental music education through three decades of classroom teaching and prolific arranging and composing. His work appears regularly on national television, and his compositions have reached audiences in the thousands, including a performance of Cloud Gate (Reflections of a City) at Chicago's Millennium Park in 2017. That same year, he earned the Cloyd Myers Memorial Award for Excellence in Music Education from the Illinois Grade School Music Association, recognition of his sustained impact on the field.

Loest's publishing history spans major houses including FJH Music Company, C.L. Barnhouse, and Warner Bros. Publications, and he founded Fanfare Music Press in 2022 to continue producing high-quality band arrangements. He holds degrees in music education from Illinois State University and a master's degree from Northwestern University, and his pedagogical methods are embedded in several widely used band curricula. A longtime faculty member at F.E. Peacock Middle School in Itasca, Illinois, Loest regularly accepts commissions and remains active in ASCAP and professional music education organizations.
