Jacquelyn Dillon

Jacquelyn Dillon has shaped string music education across North America through three decades of teaching, conducting, and advocacy. She founded award-winning string programs in Derby, Kansas and Norman, Oklahoma, and has since taught at universities in Louisiana and New York while serving as professor of string music education and chamber orchestra conductor at Wichita State University. As president of the American String Teachers Association and chair of the MENC Committee for String and Orchestra Education, Dillon has made nearly 1,000 professional appearances as a clinician, consultant, and guest conductor at state conferences, regional orchestras, and national symposiums including the Midwest Band and Orchestra Clinic.

Dillon's expertise in group string pedagogy has led her to teach graduate-level string methods courses at more than 50 universities. Her work as educational director for Scherl and Roth and editor of Orchestra News reflects her commitment to both classroom teachers and the broader string education community.
