About the Composer: Todd Stalter

Todd Stalter spent 34 years as Director of Bands at Eureka High School in Illinois, where he built one of the state's most respected band programs. His ensembles earned 16 Class 1A state marching championships, consistent Superior ratings at IHSA contests, and invitations to perform at Orchestra Hall in Chicago and Walt Disney World. He has guest-conducted All-State Bands in Georgia and Delaware, adjudicated extensively across the Midwest, and presented clinics on composition and music education at state and regional conferences.

Stalter holds a Bachelor of Music Education and a Master of Music in Trumpet Performance from Illinois State University, where he studied with faculty including Richard Lehman of the United States Marine Band. His compositions for band and string orchestra have earned widespread adoption; many appear on state contest lists and in the GIA publication "Teaching Music Through Performance in Band." He was inducted into the Illinois State Marching Band Championships Hall of Fame.
