About the Composer: Scott Watson

Scott Watson spent 35 years in the Parkland School District (Allentown, PA) as a high school band director and later as coordinator of the elementary band and strings program. His work in the classroom shaped his compositional voice, which draws equally from contemporary concert music and practical band repertoire experience. He now serves as Associate Professor of Music at Cairn University in Langhorne, Pennsylvania.

With more than 120 published works across concert band, string orchestra, and chamber ensembles, Watson has earned recognition as a frequently commissioned composer. His music appears regularly on festival and honor band programs, and his pieces have been performed at prestigious venues including the Academy of Music in Philadelphia, the Midwest Clinic in Chicago, and the White House. He is an exclusive composer and clinician for Alfred Publications and authored the influential text Using Technology to Unlock Musical Creativity through Oxford University Press.
