Adrian B. Sims

Adrian B. Sims was born in Seattle in 2000 and has rapidly established himself as a composer of considerable promise. His works have appeared at The Midwest Band and Orchestra Clinic and earned recognition on the Bandworld Top 100 List, while winning multiple composition competitions including the Maryland Music Educators Association Young Composers Project and the Make Music Young Composers Contest.

Beyond composition, Sims brings deep ensemble experience as a trombonist and conductor. He has performed with pit orchestras, symphony ensembles, jazz bands, and concert bands, and was selected multiple times for the Maryland All-State Band during his high school years. He currently studies composition with Dr. Robert Gibson at the University of Maryland while pursuing a dual degree in Music Education and Composition, and counts world-renowned composer Brian Balmages among his mentors.
