About the Composer: Jared Barnes
Jared Barnes combines active classroom teaching with a prolific composing practice. His works have traveled from Iowa concert halls to festivals and honor bands across the country, earning recognition on the Stanton's Five Star Feature and Bandworld Top 100 lists, and performed at the prestigious Midwest Clinic.
With more than a decade teaching instrumental music in grades 5-12, Barnes brings real rehearsal-room perspective to his compositions. His ensembles consistently earn top festival ratings at the IHSMA Large Group Festival, and twice earned selection as the Class 1A High School Honor Band for the Iowa Bandmasters Convention. He holds a Bachelor of Music Education from Wartburg College.
