This heartfelt elegy is dedicated to the life and memory of Dr. Gary Corcoran. His mentoring of so many music educators and students fortunate enough to have worked with him has been in inspiration to all who knew this talented and passionate musician. The title is drawn from one of his favorite places, the south shore of Massachusetts.

About the Composer: Robert Sheldon
Robert Sheldon's compositions have become staples in band rooms across the country and beyond. His works appear regularly on state and national contest lists, and his music has been performed at Carnegie Hall, Orchestra Hall, Symphony Hall, the Sydney Opera House, and the Kennedy Center. Beyond composing, Sheldon has shaped music education as lead author of Sound Innovations for Concert Band and through his extensive work as a guest conductor for All-State and Regional Honor Bands.
Sheldon's accolades include honors from the American School Band Director's Association, Phi Beta Mu, and ASCAP. He maintains an active schedule accepting commissions and presenting clinician sessions at universities and state music education conferences worldwide. His work in Japan, Canada, Italy, Germany, Australia, and China reflects the international reach of his influence. In 2020, VanderCook College of Music awarded him an honorary doctorate in recognition of his contributions to wind band music.
