About the Composer: Brian Beck

Brian Beck

Brian Beck is a composer and arranger whose works span instrumental and vocal ensemble settings. His compositions have earned recognition from The Instrumentalist magazine as "Reviewer's Choice," been featured in Teaching Music Through Performance In Band, and appeared on prescribed music lists across Texas, Ohio, Florida, and the Pacific Northwest. He has conducted award-winning bands at both the middle and high school levels, with ensembles under his direction earning consistent Superior ratings at UIL contests and multiple appearances in state honor band competitions.

Beck holds degrees in music education from Texas A&M University-Commerce and the University of Houston. He served as Director of Bands at Faubion Middle School in McKinney, Texas, and previously led the symphonic program at Byrd Middle School in Duncanville, where he received a Teacher of the Year nomination. His experience bridging middle school fundamentals with advanced ensemble preparation deeply informs his pedagogical approach to composition and arrangement.
