About the Arranger: Roy Phillippe

Roy Phillippe studied composition and orchestration at Kent State University, then deepened his craft under Phil Rizzo, a key theorist and arranger for the Stan Kenton Jazz Orchestra. Based in Los Angeles since the mid-1970s, he has written arrangements performed by Count Basie, the L.A. Express, and numerous symphony orchestras, while maintaining an active career scoring for film and television.

Phillippe's published works span jazz ensemble, concert band, and orchestra literature; his arrangements are played by student and professional ensembles worldwide. He has served as editor of Henry Mancini's film scoring text and holds memberships in ASCAP, JEN, and the American Federation of Musicians, bringing decades of professional arranging experience to every score.
