About the Arranger: Jay Althouse

Jay Althouse

Jay Althouse studied music education and music at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, where he later received the Distinguished Alumni award. His early career included eight years managing rights and licenses for a major educational music publisher, during which he served on the Executive Board of the Music Publishers Association of America.

As a composer, Althouse has over 800 choral works in print and is recognized internationally for his contributions to choral music. A writer member of ASCAP and regular recipient of the ASCAP Special Award, he has also arranged numerous vocal solo collections, co-written children's musicals with Sally K. Albrecht, and authored pedagogical resources for music classrooms. He currently serves on the National Advisory Board of the Folk Art Society of America and resides in Wake Forest, North Carolina.
