Songs for Children of the World

Conceived as a songbook for Suzuki teachers, parents and children, this rich collection has many other uses. Elementary choruses will enhance their concerts, while enriching the lives of young performers, by introducing them to the great wealth of international folk melodies so necessary for a well-rounded musical education. Included are all the old "standards" such as: The Ash Grove (Wales), Aunt Rhody (USA), Home on the Range (USA), Lock Lomond (Scotland), and the ever popular Twinkle Twinkle Little Star (France). But perhaps even more important is the inclusion of seven traditional favorites from Japan, melodies from such countries as Finland, Israel, Germany, and one calypso tune. Here is the opportunity for family singing, and group or community "sing-alongs." For the adventurous there are even a couple of descants and rounds included. All songs have guitar chords and melody lines, the Japanese has phonetic pronunciation, and many foreign songs have English translations.
