About the Composer: Andy Beck
Andy Beck directs the choral publications program at Alfred Music, where he has cultivated a catalog of over 450 choral works, vocal resources, and children's musicals. His pedagogical writing includes the widely adopted Sing at First Sight, Foundations in Choral Sight Singing, and Vocalize! 45 Vocal Warm-Ups That Teach Technique. A trained tenor with degrees from Ithaca College and Northwest Missouri State University, he brings classroom experience and performance artistry to every piece he writes.
Beyond the publishing office, Beck maintains an active career as a guest conductor, clinician, and adjudicator for honor choirs and all-state groups across the Southeast and beyond. He has served as a commissioned composer and conductor for youth and adult ensembles, performs regularly with the North Carolina Master Chorale Chamber Choir, and has been an Alfred Music recording artist since 1992. His work reflects a deep commitment to musical literacy and choral excellence.
