At times sensitive and delicate with soloistic passages, and alternately incessantly rhythmic and powerful, this composition displays complete command of the idiom and a creative sense of harmony and form. About the Composer: Richard L. Saucedo
Richard L. Saucedo spent 31 years as Director of Bands and Chairman of Performing Arts at Carmel High School in Indiana, building one of the nation's most decorated wind programs. His ensembles earned multiple state and national championships, with the Wind Symphony I appearing three times at the Music for All National Concert Band Festival and the Marching Greyhounds placing in the BOA Grand National top ten for 17 consecutive years while winning national titles in 2005 and 2012.
Beyond his classroom legacy, Saucedo has distinguished himself as an arranger and composer for marching bands, concert bands, choral groups, and orchestras. He served as Brass Arranger for the Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps, contributing to five DCI world championships, and currently coordinates music ensembles for the Blue Devils. Recognized as Indiana's Bandmaster of the Year and inducted into both the Music for All Hall of Fame and the Drum Corps International Hall of Fame, Saucedo remains active as a Senior Educational Consultant and competition judge while continuing to compose and arrange.
