About the Composer: JaRod Hall
JaRod Hall studied music education at the University of North Texas and earned his master's degree from Texas State University, where he worked with conducting faculty Dr. Nicholas Williams and Dr. Caroline Beatty. His training in composition came under Dr. Michael Ippolito and Dr. Jack Wilds, while his formative years as a tubist and trombonist shaped his deep understanding of wind ensemble sonority.
As a band director for eight years, Hall built a program culture centered on musical excellence and growth. His students earned consecutive sweepstakes awards at the Texas University Interscholastic League evaluations, and in 2018, his middle school non-varsity band at Griffin Middle School became the first in Frisco ISD to receive the state's Citation of Excellence. His original works now appear on the Texas Prescribed Music List, the J.W. Pepper Editor's Choice list, and Bandworld's Top 100 list. Hall has performed with ensembles including the North Texas Wind Symphony, Texas State Symphonic Winds, and the 2014 Disneyland All-American College Band.
