Sky Valley Festival

Commissioned by the Monroe High School Band in Monroe, Washington, Sky Valley Festival begins with a full, majestic fanfare that leads into the main theme played by the tuba, baritone and bassoon. With lush harmonies in the brass, fragments of the theme transition to the contrasting middle section, which is in the minor mode and features a chorale-style woodwind line. The reoccurrence of the main theme, this time with additional rhythmic accompaniment, leads into a dynamic coda that finishes the piece. Sky Valley Festival is sure to be a winner at festival!
