About the Composer: Steve Hodges
Steve Hodges holds degrees from Western Oregon University (Bachelor of Science) and Central Washington University (Master of Music Education). After four decades directing bands, choirs, and small ensembles across public schools, he turned his classroom experience into a prolific compositional career. Since 1986, he has published over 120 concert band works through Alfred Music, along with choral arrangements through Staff Music and Shawnee Press.
Hodges's compositions have traveled internationally and appeared at state conventions, festivals, and honor band programs from Virginia to British Columbia. His work has also been featured on TBS and ESPN cable broadcasts. An ASCAP member and recipient of multiple standard awards, Hodges now resides in The Dalles, Oregon, where he remains active in community music alongside his family of five children and ten grandchildren, several of whom are now performing his pieces in their own school bands.
