Chris Sharp holds a doctorate and has built a career bridging performance, composition, and education across multiple musical worlds. His eleven years as a trombonist and band leader at Walt Disney World, combined with decades of orchestration work for Disney parks globally, have given him deep expertise in writing music that engages audiences and players alike. He has composed and arranged for major ensembles including the Boston Pops and the USAF Airmen of Note, and his work appears regularly at prestigious clinics like the Midwest Clinic.
Currently Director of Bands at Polk State College, Dr. Sharp teaches music theory, technology, and arranging alongside his conducting duties. He adjudicates for Bands of America and Drum Corps International, and has received multiple ASCAP Plus awards. His background as both a seasoned performer and an educator gives him rare insight into what works on the bandstand and in the rehearsal room.
