About the Composer: Drew Zaremba

Drew Zaremba has built an international presence as a composer, arranger, and conductor whose work spans classical orchestras, jazz ensembles, and cross-cultural collaborations. His commissions and arrangements have been performed by the BBC Orchestra, Metropole Orkest, Dallas Symphony Orchestra, and notable soloists including Randy Brecker and members of Chicago and Manhattan Transfer. He has taught jazz composition and arranging at the University of Northern Colorado since 2018.

Zaremba's creative ambitions extend beyond traditional jazz writing. He spent two months in residence in Zhuhai, China, creating an entire concert that fused Chinese opera with jazz idioms. His original compositions have earned significant recognition, including the Sammy Nestico Award in 2018, which led to a commission with the United States Air Force Airmen of Note. He has also recorded over twenty of his pieces with the University of North Texas Lab Bands.
