Bruce W. Tippette

Bruce W. Tippette is a composer and arranger whose work spans concert music, film, dance, and theater. He earned his Master of Music in composition from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts and dual degrees in composition/theory and music education from Appalachian State University. His orchestral work Unconquered won the 2012 Mary Starling Composition Competition and has received multiple performances by the Winston-Salem Symphony.

Beyond the concert hall, Tippette has collaborated with Cirque du Soleil on experimental composition projects and contributed original music for choreographers and children's musicals. As an educator, he teaches composition, theory, piano, and voice at UNCSA's Community Music School while serving as Youth Music and Handbell Director at Augsburg Lutheran Church. His published works appear through Alfred Music, and he is a freelance engraver and frequently engaged rehearsal pianist in the Winston-Salem community.
